Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) is an evidence-based treatment for children and adolescents impacted by trauma and incorporates trauma-sensitive, cognitive behavioral, family, and humanistic principles and techniques.
Child-Parent Psychotherapy
Child-Parent Psychotherapy (CPP) is an intervention for children ages 0–6 who have experienced at least one traumatic event and/or are experiencing mental health, attachment, or behavioral concerns. The approach focuses on strengthening the parent-child relationship.
Brainspotting
Brainspotting is a focused treatment method that works with emotional and body pain, trauma, dissociation, and other challenging symptoms.
Parent-Child Interaction Therapy
Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) is an evidence-based treatment designed to improve the parent-child relationship and reduce disruptive behaviors in young children.
What to Expect During Therapy
Each person's experience with therapy or psychological testing is unique. Services are based on the needs of the individual, child, teen, or family.

Initial Consultation
The process begins with connecting with Birch Therapy and learning about the available therapy or psychological testing services. For psychological testing, Birch Therapy offers a consultation with the psychologist to learn more about testing services.

Ongoing Sessions
Therapy sessions depend on the therapeutic approach being used and the individual's needs. Trauma therapy may include approaches such as TF-CBT, ACT, Brainspotting, CPP, PCIT, and PSB.
For psychological testing, testing sessions typically last about two hours with breaks as needed. Children may require up to three face-to-face testing appointments depending on the referral questions.
Parent Involvement

Therapy and assessment are centered around the individual's needs and the goals of the service. Psychological assessments include background information and test data, followed by scoring, case conceptualization, feedback, and a comprehensive assessment report with recommendations tailored to the child.
