LIBBY HOOKER, LCSWA
Libby is currently a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate and has been actively involved in the social work field since 2016. As a native of North Carolina, she completed both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in social work at North Carolina State University. Her background includes a variety of unique experiences in the mental health field, and she holds a particular passion for the mental well-being of the community’s young people. Over nearly ten years in the field, Libby has worked in group homes, community-based non-profits, and home-based services. For the past two years, she has focused on providing individual therapy for all ages, with a special emphasis on kids and adolescents.
MY WHY
As the child of a retired therapist, you could say I continued the family tradition by entering the field myself. I have always been deeply interested in learning about people and connecting with others. I value the opportunity to let others teach me who they are, and I believe that connection is a powerful force in the therapy room. I prioritize curiosity, joy, safety, and the therapeutic relationship above all else. No matter where you are on your journey, I am committed to standing by your side. I cannot wait to learn all about YOU!
MY STYLE
Libby takes a person-centered and strengths-based approach. She will meet you where you are with warm-hearted acceptance. Libby creates a safe space where clients feel seen and comfortable expressing themselves. Some techniques that Libby often uses include cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), child-centered play therapy (CCPT), mindfulness, and emotional freedom technique, to name just a few. She will collaborate with clients to find the best approach to facilitate healing. Libby believes you are the expert on yourself, and she will tailor your treatment to meet your identified needs.
